The author-photographer of The Brigade in Review: A Year at the U.S. Naval Academy (1993) jumps ship to produce an equally splendid album on the U.S. Military Academy. The book follows West Point through a full year, beginning with the reception of new cadets in the summer and ending with the departure of the graduating class as newly commissioned second lieutenants. Concise text and superb photos cover the cadets' classes, military training, sports, discipline, ceremonies, honor system, traditions, uniforms (all 14 of them), and everything else that goes into producing men and women who, as often as not, actually live by the West Point watchwords, "Duty, Honor, Country." Whatever one thinks of West Point, this book will make that opinion better informed and give it a visual feast.

I come from an Army family and I loved this accounting of a year in the life of a cadet. The book was fun and interesting to read, plus the photos are fantastic! I have left it on my coffee table and my guests love to flip through it. Thank you Mr. Stewart for your insightful view of a year in the life of a cadet.

As a large fan of millitary books I feel that Stewart and Meyers did a great job on describing the USMA.
